Conducted by Music Director Peter Butterfield, we perform a wide range of a cappella and accompanied music in collaboration with established soloists, emerging talents and professional musicians from across Canada and beyond. From September to November, we met in small groups, in a large open space, with special singing masks, according to strict protocols, to practice our sight-singing and to enjoy each other's physically-distanced company. We were hoping to organize a safe Christmas Carol Concert, but when the tighter restrictions on gathering came out in mid-November, we ceased our rehearsals.

Never Miss a Concert!
Marc Jenkins, musician and full-time choir director, stands in front of 80 people at a rehearsal with The Choir. Instead of Handel, think Hozier. Instead of Bach, think Bowie. Jenkins was a manager at the Larsen Music retail store when the idea of organizing a community pop choir was raised in He distinctly remembers the first rehearsal. He and other organizers printed off 30 or so songbooks, pushed the racks of acoustic guitars and ukuleles to the walls and waited for a few dozen people to show up. Instead, 80 people showed up. At the rehearsal, members chat and giggle with one another like middle-school kids with trendy tattoos, mom jeans and Birkenstocks, but as soon as the piano starts, they quiet down, focus in and start harmonizing. As choir director, Jenkins witnessed firsthand the cultural change choirs have gone through in recent years.

What would your relationship look like if you were to marry. They are grown now and serving their country but luckily they still need Mom and Dad sometimes!. Lonely is an everyday thing. With the amount of hours they must study and work they are exhausted a lot. December 17, I figured it might be fun to update you kind folks on what happened. Am I ready for this.
